Public Records Request

Florida Public Records Law – Chapter 119, Florida Statutes

The Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District is committed to providing access to public records in accordance with Chapter 119, Florida Statutes.

All records made or received by the District in connection with the transaction of official business are public records unless exempt or confidential under applicable law.

Members of the public may request to inspect or obtain copies of public records maintained by the District. Requests may be submitted in-person, online, by email, by mail, or by telephone. Requestors are not required to identify themselves or provide a reason for the request, except as otherwise required by law.

Response and Fees

The District will respond to public records requests in accordance with Chapter 119, Florida Statutes. Certain records may be exempt from disclosure or may require redaction as authorized by state or federal law.

Fees for copies, extensive clerical assistance, supervisory assistance, information technology resources, or other special services may be charged as permitted by Florida law.

Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone, in person, or in writing.
